    Terms of Service for Skift

    1. Acceptance of Terms

    By accessing or using Skift, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

    2. Description of Service

    Skift is a mobile application that helps couples share mental load by transferring household responsibilities between partners through digital "skifts."

    3. User Accounts

    • You must provide a valid email address
    • You're responsible for maintaining account security
    • One account per person
    • Must be 16 years or older to use
    • You must not share login credentials

    4. User Conduct

    You agree NOT to:

    • Use the service to harass, abuse, or harm others
    • Share inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
    • Attempt to hack, reverse engineer, or disrupt the service
    • Create accounts using automated means
    • Violate any applicable laws or regulations

    5. Content and Intellectual Property

    • You retain ownership of content you create (skifts)
    • You grant us license to display your content to your connected partner
    • We may use aggregated, anonymous data for service improvements
    • Our app design, logo, and branding are protected by copyright

    6. Pricing and Payment

    • Free tier: Unlimited basic skifts
    • Premium features: Pricing displayed in-app
    • Payments processed through Apple App Store or Google Play
    • Prices subject to change with 30 days notice
    • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled

    7. Cancellation and Refunds

    • Cancel subscription anytime through App Store/Play Store
    • No refunds for partial subscription periods
    • Account data retained for 30 days after cancellation
    • Refunds handled according to App Store/Play Store policies

    8. Service Availability

    • We strive for 99% uptime but don't guarantee uninterrupted service
    • May suspend service for maintenance (with notice when possible)
    • May terminate accounts violating these terms

    9. Disclaimers

    • Service provided "as is" without warranties
    • Not a substitute for professional relationship counseling
    • Not liable for relationship outcomes
    • Not responsible for actions of your partner
    • No guarantee of service fitness for particular purpose

    10. Limitation of Liability

    • Maximum liability limited to amount paid in last 12 months
    • Not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
    • Some jurisdictions don't allow liability limitations

    11. Dispute Resolution

    • Governed by Norwegian law
    • Disputes resolved through Oslo courts
    • Informal resolution attempted first

    12. Changes to Terms

    • We may update terms with reasonable notice
    • Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance
    • Material changes notified via email

    13. Termination

    • Either party may terminate at any time
    • We may terminate for terms violations
    • Upon termination, your right to use service ends immediately
